Gaga calls latest award win the most meaningful of her life

Multi-award winning pop star Lady Gaga gave a ten minute acceptance speech when collecting her latest accolade.

Upon receiving the Young Artist Award from the arts-education non-profit Americans for the Arts organisation, the ‘ARTPOP’ musician said that there isn’t “a single award that means more to me than this one.”

The focus of her acceptance speech was the role that art has played in the development of her own career and ideas.

Gaga said: "While art can make you foolish and wild, it has also always been a warm blanket for me to admire, something I knew that would always be there for me. It was always the byproduct, the unicorn, the fantasy that arose from whatever struggle I was experiencing, whatever torment I possessed."

Addressing her audience at the New York ceremony she stated: "So I’m here today to say thank you so much to all of you for honoring me with this, because I don’t think there is a single award that is more meaningful to me than this one."

The 'American Horror Story' actress specifically thanked artist Marina Abramovic for her intensive tranining, which Gaga called “the best rehab I’ve ever had”, as well as her parents.
