5SOS are on course to top the UK albums chart for first time

5 Seconds of Summer are leading this week's UK albums chart race.

The Australian group released their second record 'Sounds Good Feels Good' on Friday (October 23).

The Official Charts Company revealed today (October 26) that the quartet are No.1 on their midweek update.

If the album stays put come Friday (October 30), 5 Seconds of Summer will have achieved their first No.1 record in the UK.

Their 2014 self-titled debut peaked at No.2.

Following at No.2 on the midweek update is Bryan Adams with his new entry 'Get Up', while another newbie - Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott's 'Wisdom Laughter And Lines' - is No.3.

In at No.4 is 'Cinema' by Andrea Bocelli, while Daniel O'Donnell is No.5 with 'The Hank Williams Songbook'.

Joanna Newsom is a new entry at No.7 with 'Divers' and Carrie Underwood's 'Storyteller' debuts at No.10.

Adele's 2011 effort '21' is up to No.13 as a result of the singer's return to music with the single 'Hello'.

Her 2008 debut '19' is similarly boosted to No.28.
