Zayn Malik's manager on ensuring his success

Sarah Stennett, the manager of newly-solo Zayn Malik, has opened up about what her role is as part of the star's new team

She launched Turn First back in 2004 and now manages the likes of rapper Iggy Azalea and British songstress Ellie Goulding.

During an interview feature with Billboard magazine, Stennett explained that she is there to support the talented young singer and ensure that people see him for who he truly is now that he has moved away from One Direction:

"The environment he was in was all about compromise. My job is simple: Make sure nobody gets in the way of him becoming an important artist."

Stennett also warned of the pitfalls of social media, adding: “When you suddenly become very famous, it’s a lot for any young person to deal with. Especially nowadays, when it’s hard to put your phone away. Social media is amazing, but I think there’s a lot of miscommunication by artists because of the speed of the online environment. My advice is, stay off social media.”
