5SOS score UK No.1 with second album 'Sounds Good Feels Good'

Aussie pop-punk group 5 Seconds Of Summer have rocketed to the top of the Official Albums Chart this week with their second studio album, 'Sounds Good Feels Good'.

The LP - which features Top 20 single 'She’s Kinda Hot' - has outsold its closest rival by more than two copies to one. 5SOS’s self-titled debut hit No.2 upon its release in 2014, while their live album 'LiveSOS' peaked at No.31.

Meanwhile, iconic Canadian singer-songwriter Bryan Adams scores his highest UK charting album in over 15 years with 'Get Up' (2). Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli claims a tenth UK Top 10 with 'Cinema' (3), while Paul Heaton & Jacqui Abbott score a second with 'Wisdom, Laughter and Lines' (4).

Daniel O’Donnell rounds out today’s Official Albums Chart Top 5 with his 16th Top 10, 'The Hank Williams Songbook' at No.5. US musician Joanna Newsom scores her highest charting UK album to date with 'Divers' (10), trailed by the first of two re-entries for Adele – '21' – which climbs 49 places to No.11.

Country singer Carrie Underwood claims a second Top 20 with 'Storyteller' (13), while rock group Killing Joke score their sixth Top 40 with 'Pylon' (16). Thomas Newman’s 'Spectre – OST' lands at 25 this week, trailed by Dave Gahan & Soulsavers’ 'Angels & Ghosts', at 27.

Adele’s debut '19' claims the title of highest climber of the week, up a massive 135 places to No.31 today.

Elsewhere, The Shires’ 'Brave' (38) and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds’ 'Chasing Yesterday' (39) both re-enter the Official Albums Chart Top 40, as Scottish post-rock band Mogwai take home a seventh Top 40 with 'Central Belters' (40).
