Nathan Sykes: 'You grow up and are no longer the cute or young one in a boyband'

Singer Nathan Sykes has revealed that going solo was a natural progression once The Wanted collectively decided to call it a day.

The 'Over and Over Again' sensation told Scotland's Daily Record that making the transition from boyband member to solo artist was tough, but he knows he made the right choice:

“I remember being in Gloucester with my family and putting the phone down over Christmas when we decided to take a break. I sat in the kitchen and said to my mum: ‘What am I going to do? I’m twenty years old. I can’t retire from music'."

The heartthrob went onto add that he knew his image would eventually change and he was ready to move with that: "I have really, really been driven since the age of six. This is like a new artist project for me and to be fair, with age, you grow up and are no longer the cute or young one in a boyband and you come into your own.”
