Fleur East releases debut single 'Sax' from upcoming album

Fleur East has unveiled her first single.

The singer, who was the runner-up on the 2014 X Factor, released 'Sax' today (November 6).

The single is the maiden cut from her upcoming album 'Love, Sax and Flashbacks'.

The record, which will feature her breakthrough cover of Mark Ronson's 'Uptown Funk', will be released on December 4.

East performed the tune on the X Factor last year before it was officially on sale - prompting Ronson's team to bring forward its release date.

The singer previously said: "It was very beneficial that the song hadn't really come out yet.

"At the time it felt like a huge risk, but looking back now I think it was a good thing that people didn't know the song. They could kind of just judge me as an artist in the real world.

"Everything about that song - the uptempo vibe, the high energy, the brass, the old school funk sound - was just right up my street. I've definitely taken a few influences from that."
