Ellie Goulding has revealed that she is going to write music with One Direction's Niall Horan.

The boyband are set to take a break in 2016 to have a breather and work on solo projects.

It seems Horan could be set to create music with Goulding, who has been friends with the Irishman for some time.

She told The Sun: "I'm going to write with him.

"He's a really good guitarist and he's funny, cheeky, really cool. He's been my friend for quite a few years so I'm really up for it."

Horan recently revealed that he also plans to travel during his band's break.

His band released their fifth album 'Made in the A.M.' on Friday (November 13).

Goulding meanwhile unleashed her third record 'Delirium' on November 6.
