Eagles of Death Metal return to stage to join U2 in Paris

Eagles of Death Metal have returned to the stage for the first since the November Paris terror attacks by teaming up with U2 in the French capital.

A total of 89 people were murdered in the Bataclan venue on November 13 by gunmen as part of a wider attack on the French capital.

US rock band Eagles of Death Metal were playing a show at the time, with Islamic State claiming responsibility.

After strong rumours, the group joined U2 on stage at their gig at Paris' AccorHotels Arena on Monday (December 7).

They ran through Patti Smith's 'People Have The Power' before U2 let Eagles of Death Metal play 'I Love You All The Time'.

Bono said: "There's nothing left but to introduce you to some people whose lives will forever be a part of the life of Paris.

"These are our brothers. They were robbed of their stage three weeks ago, and we would like to offer them ours tonight."

U2 rescheduled two Paris shows in the wake of the attacks.

Eagles of Death Metal meanwhile have previously spoken of their desire to be the first band to play a re-opened Bataclan.
