Motörhead song in UK top ten as Bieber holds onto No.1

Motörhead's classic track 'Ace of Spades' has reached No.9 on the UK singles chart.

The band's founder Lemmy Kilmister died in late December aged 70 just days after learning that he had cancer.

Fans soon started a campaign to get the group's 1980 song 'Ace of Spades' to No.1.

The Official Charts Company confirmed today (January 4) that the tune is placed at No.9 on the UK singles chart.

The song peaked at No.15 when it was originally released.

Elsewhere on the midweek chart, Justin Bieber's 'Love Yourself' stays put at No.1.

The rest of the top five also remains unchanged from Friday (January 1), with the Canadian at No.2 with 'Sorry'.

Adele's 'Hello' is placed at No.3, while Bieber is in again at No.4 with 'What Do You Mean?'.

Grace's 'You Don't Own Me' completes the top five.

Shawn Mendes' 'Stitches' has risen to No.8, with David Guetta ft. Sia’s 'Bang My Head' is up 13 places to No.29.
