Celebrity Big Brother has been criticised for revealing footage of Angie Bowie crying after learning her ex-husband David had died.

The iconic musician passed away on Sunday (January 10) aged 69 after an 18-month battle with cancer.

The news was revealed on Monday (January 11) while his former wife Angie, who Bowie was married to between 1970 and 1980, was in the Big Brother house as a celebrity contestant.

The Channel 5 TV show confirmed the sad news to Angie in its diary room, prompting the woman to start crying.

She said: "I haven't seen him in so many years, I can't make a big drama out of it. It just feels like an era has ended with his passing. I'm just so very sad...Stardust is gone."

Footage from the incident has now been aired online, leading to Channel 5 being criticised for broadcasting the intimate moment.

The couple had one child together, Duncan Jones, who was born in 1971.

Angie, however, recently said that she does not have a relationship with the man.
