Little Mix's Jade Thirlwall: 'I never wanted to be famous'

Beauty Jade Thirlwall, of Little Mix fame, has revealed that being propelled into the spotlight has been a strange experience and one that has as many upsides as it does downsides.

During a new interview with Maximum Pop, the songstress admitted that the most annoying thing about being in a successful girl group is having to get up really early in the mornings to fulfil press commitments:

"Being in a girl group is a lot more fun than being on your own, they always keep me laughing.  A challenge we’ve had to face is taking turns to wake up early, who gets the 5am call."

When asked if there's one piece of advice she would give to young people who aspire to be famous, Thirlwall confessed that it's important to be sure you want celebrity for "the right reasons" because it's not an easy ride:

"For me, a few years ago, I never actually wanted to be famous, I just wanted to be a singer, I never imagined that I would win The X Factor, I just turned up and hoped for the best. So, I think it’s really hard for a young person to prepare themselves for the level of fame that we have, I would advise anyone that young that wants to be famous, make sure you’re doing it for the right reasons, have a purpose behind it."

Little Mix, meanwhile, will perform live at this year's BRIT Awards, which will take place London's O2 Arena on February 24, and they have also been nominated for two awards (British Single and British Artist Video of the Year, both for 'Black Magic').
