Mariah Carey is now engaged to her partner James Packer.

The singer's rep confirmed to the Billboard that the singer and the casino owner are set to marry.

They said on Thursday (January 21): "The happy couple got engaged this evening in New York."

The duo have been dating since June last year.

Packer is known to be one of the richest men in Australia.

Carey has been married twice before, last wedding Nick Cannon in 2008 and divorcing seven years later.

She also exchanged vows with record label man Tommy Mottola in 1993, but their romance ended in 1997.

The singer had twins Morocco and Monroe with Cannon in 2011.
