Selena Gomez 'very happy' to see ex Justin Bieber win first Grammy

Selena Gomez says she is overjoyed at seeing her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber win his first Grammy.

The singer bagged the Best Dance Recording prize at last night's (February 15) ceremony for his Skrillex and Diplo track 'Where Are U Now?'.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight at the event, Gomez - who dated Bieber for a number of years - said she was pleased to see the Canadian pick up the award.

She said: "I'm very happy for him. Honestly, so cool.

"They have such a cool energy amongst all of them to be able to create something like that. It's really great."

Bieber was previously nominated twice for Grammys in 2011, with one nod for the Best New Artist prize.

The singer's 'My World 2.0' record failed to win the Best Pop Vocal Album gong in the same year.

Speaking on Twitter after his Grammy win was announced, Bieber wrote:

"Beliebers.. We did it! I love you. Now get ready for the show. Not done yet. #GRAMMYs."

The singer went on to perform his award-winning track with Diplo and Skrillex, as well his song 'Love Yourself'.
