Ant & Dec have jokingly banned capes from tonight's Brits

Ant & Dec have jokingly banned capes from this year's Brit Awards.

The popular presenters told Digital Spy that they definitely don't want a repeat of last year's Madonna incident.

"We've banned capes from this year's show," Ant said. Nodding in agreement, Dec added: "Capes are banned."

The Queen of Pop took a pretty nasty tumble at London's O2 Arena during her performance of 'Living For Love' at the BRITs last year, but revealed that she minimised the injury because she had experience of falling.

Speaking to Jonathan Ross about the much talked about moment, Madonna said: "I didn't hurt my butt but I hurt my head. I know how to fall, I have fallen off my horse many times. I had little bit of whiplash, I smacked the back of my head. And I had a man standing over me with a flashlight until about 3am to make sure I was compos mentis."

Madonna's performance of 'Living For Love', during which she fell from a flight of stairs, was the most tweeted about performance of the entire ceremony last year, receiving 135,420 mentions.

We're sure the Queen of Pop's wardrobe malfunction will be a hard one to beat but that's definitely not a challenge to any of tonight's performers.
