Soulja Boy concert axed over crowd fights

Police shut down a gig by rapper Soulja Boy on Saturday (October 30) in Washington, D.C., after violence broke out among the concert goers.

The ‘Crank That’ rapper was due to perform at D.C.’s Ibiza nightclub, but his performance was delayed by some payment issues with the gig promoters.

At the door, all was not well as a series of fights forced cops to swarm the venue and order the gig to be cancelled.

Soulja Boy took to his personal Twitter account to apologise for the axing, saying: "I'm so sorry to disappoint my DC fans but the promoters did not have all the money. I still tried to perform but I couldn't even get inside!"

He continued: "I tried to perform for free! But it was (sic) so many fights at the side door that the police shut it down! My apologies I will be back!"

Soulja Boy is currently touring in promotion of his upcoming album 'The DeAndre Way'.
