Meghan Trainor on insecurities: 'I shouldn't have felt like that'

'All About That Bass' hitmaker Meghan Trainor has revealed that she used to be really insecure about the way she looked and rarely felt comfortable.

During a recent interview with CBS, the songstress explained that she would even cover up on summer vacations because she didn't want to flaunt her figure or show her skin:

"I, every day, wore sweatshirts and sweatpants to cover up my body, because I was so insecure. And it would be summer. And I would go on vacation and I'd be in Trinidad and Tobago, 90-degree weather, and I'd be wearing sweatshirts that said (her hometown) 'Nantucket'."

"I didn't want to show my arms. I didn't want to show anything, and I was just so insecure and uncomfortable, and I thought, 'All right, if I'm fully covered - I'm good.' And that's not what I should have been feeling."

Last month, Trainor spoke about Harry Styles's potential as a solo artist and predicted big things for the One Direction sensation: "We have mutual friends – he’s signed to CAA like me and Adele. CAA do everything, movies, sport, and are kind people, they nurture your career and he will be huge. Harry is killing it out here in the US, songwriting for Ariana Grande and myself – he’s really talented. I can’t wait to hear what he’s got going.”
