Adele’s 25 on course to reclaim No.1 spot on albums chart

The mighty Adele looks set to return to Number 1 on this week’s Official Albums Chart as her world tour continues the UK this week.

As the first of her three arena shows kicks off in Manchester tonight (March 7), 25 is on track to reclaim the top spot on this Friday’s Official Chart. The collection has already enjoyed nine non-consecutive weeks at the summit and has yet to leave the Top 5 since it first charted in December last year.

Meanwhile, Jess Glynne’s I Cry When I Laugh leaps from 6 to 2 on today’s Official Chart Update, boosted by the success of its latest spin-off single Ain’t Got Far To Go and her appearance on Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway over the weekend. It’s a big climb, but she’s got a long way to go to beat Adele this week, who is almost 27,000 combined sales ahead at the mid-week stage.

The rest of the Top 5 remains unchanged so far this week: Justin Bieber’s Purpose at 3, David Bowie’s Best Of Bowie at 4, and Coldplay’s A Head Full Of Dreams at 5.

Currently just outside the Top 5 at Number 6 is a new entry from Kendrick Lamar. His surprise release called Untitled Unmastered is set to become his second Top 10 album this week following last March’s chart-topping To Pimp A Butterfly.

Close behind Lamar at Number 7 is British grime artist Kano, who is on course for a personal best with latest album Made In The Manor, while indie-rockers The Coral start at Number 12 with their eighth album Distance Between.

Further down the tally, Australian rock band Tonight Alive are set to make their UK chart debut with their third album Limitless, currently at 27, electronic singer-songwriter Lapsley starts at 29 with her debut Long Way Home, and The Feeling could be earning their fifth Top 40 album this week with their self-titled collection (38).
