R.E.M team up with Eddie Vedder, Patti Smith and Peaches on new record

R.E.M has revealed that their latest album is to include an all star cast of featured artists.

The group’s bass player Mike Mills claims that the album, entitled ‘Collapse Into Now’, will include guest appearances from Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder, Patti Smith and Peaches.

Talking to Spin Magazine, Mills described the album as being “more expansive” than the band’s last record (2008’s ‘Accelerate’) and also said it would be a “very personal, very human record”.

‘Collapse Into Now’ is expected to be released early in the new year and follows R.E.M’s very successful 'Accelerate' which topped the UK charts and rose to number two in the US.
