Lil Wayne freed from prison

After a morning of conflicting reports, MTV have officially confirmed that Lil Wayne has finally been released from prison. The ‘Lollipop’ rapper has served just eight months of his year long sentence at the Rikers Island facility after pleading guilty to attempted gun possession.

MTV’s UK headquarters reported earlier today that Weezy would be spending at least one more night in jail after a guard at Rikers told them, “If you get an infraction in jail, they'll take away 'good time' — time that you accumulated for good behaviour,” which alluded to the incident back in May where he was caught with an MP3 player and was subsequently put in isolation.

However Wayne, 28, real name Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., has now been freed and according to Young Money President, Mack Maine, will celebrate on Sunday with a party at a lavish Miami strip club.

Drake, a fellow member of Young Money, hinted at an onstage reunion with Lil Wayne during an interview with MTV where he explained that the last date of his Light Dreams and Nightmares tour was to be in Las Vegas in early November. Drake said of this possibility, “I would just advise you to book a ticket out there. If you can get tickets to that show on the 6th, I would strongly advise it."
