Freedom for Kid Rock

American singer-songwriter and rapper Kid Rock will release his eighth studio album, ‘Born Free’, on November 16.

Produced by the legendary Rick Rubin, who has also worked on records with Johnny Cash, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Linkin Park, it follows in the footsteps of his last offering, ‘Rock ‘N Roll Jesus’, that was certified triple platinum.

On Kid Rock's website, real name Robert James Ritchie, explains, "When I was in Iraq and Afghanistan, I really thought about how lucky we are to be born — by the grace of God — free”.

This is a theme that embodies his new album and in an interview with Billboard magazine he discusses it’s title track, ‘Born Free’, and how his patriotism as an American helps him to appreciate freedom:

“[It was inspired by] playing for the guys at UAE and around Afghanistan at Christmas time, in Iraq the five or six times I've been. And I think, man, how f*cked up would it be to be born here. Born in China, to be born in East Germany not too long ago. North Korea. There’s so many examples of just how lucky we are to be born anywhere in this world that is free.”
