Aerosmith planning 40th anniversary album

Aerosmith have announced plans to mark their 40th anniversary with a new album that will feature the “old-school” Aerosmith sound.

Despite a turbulent year of band in-fighting that was partly carried out through the press, the rockers have resolved their differences and are ready to step back into the studio.

Aerosmith drummer Joey Kramer revealed: "Yeah, we're going to make an album. I would like to see a record within a year from the Aerosmith boys.

"It's going to be an old-school Aerosmith record. We're going to do it the old way with the whole band in the same room and it should be a good one. We're all anticipating."

Kramer said that the group are anxious to record new material as they haven’t put out fresh stuff since ‘The Grind’ on their 14th record, 2004’s covers album ‘Honkin’ On Bobo’.

He added: "I'm anxious to get back in the studio and do a record. We haven't done a record in so long. I'm really looking forward to it. It's a nice project over the winter."
