The Simon Cowell loathed X Factor star, Wagner Carrilho has received a huge endorsement in the form of an unlikely new fan: ‘Twilight’ heartthrob Robert Pattinson.

R-Patz, 24, is backing the Brazilian to win the talent contest saying: “I love this guy. He doesn’t have the best voice, but he enjoys what he does and I respect him for that.

“[He’s] the sort of guy you’d do a drunken duet with at a family wedding,” he added to The Mirror. “It’s great just to see him wind Simon Cowell up.”

The encouragement could be huge for Wagner as ‘Twilight’ fans – oft called ‘twi-hards’ – may be persuaded to follow the recommendations of their idol.

 R-Patz, also revealed that X Factor judge Dannii Minogue invited him to a recording.

In the event of his attendance at the show, Pattinson said: “I really hope Wagner is still in by the final. If filming allows I’ll be there, and I guarantee I’ll be wearing a ‘Vote Wagner’ T-shirt.”
