Demi Lovato: 'Arena shows are less stressful than intimate ones'

Superstar Demi Lovato has revealed that it's almost easier to play in an arena or stadium than it is to do an intimate show because you're so far away from the crowd that you can't see how people are reacting to your performance.

She told The Late Late Show's James Corden that it's definitely more intimidating to perform in front of a small group of people:

"When you're in a huge arena I feel like you just look out in the audience and it's easier in a sense than when you're in a small environment and… if you suck, the person's two feet away from you and they're looking at you like, 'You're doing a terrible job'."

Lovato, meanwhile, was recently chosen to receive the coveted Vanguard Award by the world’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender media advocacy organisation, the GLAAD Media Awards, next month in Los Angeles. This particular honour is given to "media professionals who have made a significant difference in promoting equality and acceptance."
