Katy Perry and Lady Gaga dominate People's Choice nominations
Nominations for the music categories of America’s well-respected People’s Choice awards have been announced.
The ceremony, which will take place at the Nokia Theatre on January 5, 2011, will mark its 37th anniversary and features 10 music categories. It comes as no surprise that Lady Gaga and Katy Perry are again going head to head with nominations in the Favourite Music Video, Favourite Pop Artist, Favourite Song and Favourite Female Artist categories.
Other artists nominated in more than one field include Eminem, who is in the running for Favourite Male Artist, Favourite Hip Hop Artist and Favourite Song and Video for ‘Love The Way You Lie’; Justin Bieber with nominations in the Favourite Breakout Artist and Favourite Music Video categories; and Usher who is up for Favourite R&B Artist and Favourite Song for ‘OMG’.
The category for Favourite Rock Band includes artists such as Linkin Park, Daughtry and Nickelback whilst Favourite Country Artist is made up of Taylor Swift, Lady Antebellum and Rascal Flatts. The People’s Choice awards will remain open for voting until December 7 and the public decides the winners.
