Gaga and Beyoncé head up rich list

Lady Gaga and Beyoncé Knowles have come up close behind Oprah on Forbes magazine’s new list of highest earning female stars.

Beyoncé snagged the second spot with a whopping £56 million in earnings from commercial deals and touring, followed by Britney Spears in third, reporting a £41million year, and Lady Gaga following Spears very closely in fourth with £40 million.

The top 5 was rounded off with Madonna, whose ‘Sticky & Sweet’ tour contributed heavily to her accumulation of £37.5 million. Young stars Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift also crept into the top 10 of the list. However, more than tripling even second place was Oprah Winfrey whose show, magazine and countless other endeavours managed to accrue an incredible £203 million.
