Singer and former Girls Aloud star Nicola Roberts has called for the Prime Minister, David Cameron, to start addressing the issue of 'sexting' among young people by getting a strategy in place to deal with it in schools. 

Roberts wrote an editorial piece for British newspaper The Times and slammed Cameron for not bothering to prioritise the problem:

"Sexting and child exploitation are serious problems that David Cameron and his government are simply not addressing. Children are frequently told 'don't talk to strangers online', but that ignores what happens in the classroom. It ignores the girl pressured by a classmate into sending a naked picture of herself to a boy... Who does the girl go to for advice when she feels she can't talk to her parents?"

Roberts, who is an ambassador for the British children's charity Barnardo's, continues: "It infuriates me to see the prime minister treat this issue with such a lack of common sense. And I don't see why education secretary Nicky Morgan isn't publicly backing this change to the status of PSHE lessons."
