James and Adele are battling it out for UK No.1 album

James are on course to land their first No.1 album in the UK since 1998.

The group's latest effort 'Girl At The End Of The World' topped the Official Charts Company's midweek update today (March 21).

It is under 2,000 copies behind Adele's chart behemoth '25', which slips one place to No.2.

James last topped the chart in 1998 with 'The Best Of'.

Iggy Pop is a new in at No.3 with 'Post Pop Depression', while Underworld are a fellow new entry at No.4 with 'Barbara Barbara, We Face a Shining Future'.

Rounding off this week's midweek top five is Justin Bieber's 'Purpose'.

Primal Scream are the next highest new entry, with their latest effort 'Chaosmosis' landing at No.6.

Gwen Stefani is in at No.11 with 'This Is What The Truth Feels Like', while Hans Zimmer & Junkie XL's 'Batman vs Superman - Dawn of Justice OST' debuts at No.17.
