Kings Of Leon to headline Isle of Wight festival

Organisers of next year’s Isle ofWight festival have announced that Kings Of Leon are set to headline the event.

The American act will be headlining the opening evening of the festival, which is scheduled to run from June 10-12 2011 at Seaclose Park in Newport.

Festival promoter John Giddings said:"We are proud to bring one of the world's biggest rock bands to the island on our tenth anniversary. It is an incredible way to start the weekend, I can't wait.”

Organisers also revealed that the event will be the band’s only major UK festival appearance of the year.

Kings Of Leon just released their fifth LP ‘Come Around Sundown’ last month.

Tickets for the Isle of Wight festival will go on sale Friday (November 19) at 9am.
