Adam Lambert: 'As an artist, you want people to talk about you'

Vocal powerhouse Adam Lambert has revealed what he thinks an artist should consider to be important.

During a new interview with Billboard magazine, the 'Ghost Town' sensation confessed that he thinks anyone trying to make an impact on the industry should create something that people will talk about:

“My concept for the album was modern-day glam rock. I was pushing for [the title track] to be the first single, but after performing it on the American Music Awards [controversy erupted over a crotch grab and a kiss], RCA decided to release ‘Whataya Want From Me’ instead."

Lambert added: "To me, the AMAs was really tame. But as an artist. I think you want conversation. You want people to talk about what you’re doing.”

Earlier today, he unveiled his new song 'Can't Go Home', which is a collaboration with producer and artist Steve Aoki. Aoki told GRAMMY Pro that working with the former 'American Idol' finalist was amazing:

"We shipped it off to Adam Lambert, he heard it, he loved it, he jumped in my studio. We did a million and one takes with Adam, he is a true professional. The best singer I've ever worked with is Adam... I mean, obviously. He's just incredible. We have a home run of a song."
