Jay-Z took over Manhattan hotspot The Box on the weekend to host a signing party for new Roc Nation artist Jay Electronica.

The ’99 Problems’ rapper and label president welcomed the new addition, saying:

“This next wizard that we’re about to introduce…We’re very excited. You guys have been supporting him in a major way, and he goes by the name of Jay Electronica. He’s an official Roc Nation signee.”

Shortly after the signing became public Diddy, who has been working with the New Orleans rapper Jay Electronica for the past year, posted on his Twitter account:

“Damn it hurts in a whole other way when someone you felt and I mean really felt was your Friend, Betrays you. It hurts when Breathe.”

After a weekend of heavy speculation, Diddy wrote this morning (November 15):

“Before we start the week off with Rumors. I am not mad at Jay Z! I'm not mad at anyone! Jz was not the friend I was referring 2 Be clear.”

He then quashed further rumours by adding, “@JayElectronica I proud of you! I'm happy for you. I love you! I congratulate you' I'm not mad at you! All I wanna do is see you win! All love”.

Things have since settled down and Jay Electronica joins the ranks of Willow Smith, J.Cole and, as a songwriter, Bruno Mars on the Roc Nation roster.
