The mother of Louis Tomlinson's baby has hit back at internet trolls who claim their child is fake.

The singer became a father to Freddie Reign after Los Angeles stylist Briana Jungwirth gave birth in January.

While the couple are not together, both parents are having an active role in the child's life.

However, some people online have come up with conspiracy theories about how the baby isn't actually real.

Jungwirth took to Instagram recently to post a response to a joke picture uploaded by MTV showing Louis Tomlinson holding the baby, which was replaced by question marks.

The image added: "Where's Freddie? #LarryIsReal."

Jungwirth responded: "Sorry but that is just cruel. I don't usually speak out much, but I'd like to know how would you feel as a new proud mother reading something like this?

"How dare anyone call my child fake. That's sick and morally wrong. Say all you'd like but I won't let anyone take away the happiness I have for my baby son. I know Louis won't either."
