N-Dubz to compete with Queen

N-Dubz have announced that they will be recording an alternative to the Queen’s Christmas Day message and it will be broadcast at the same time on Channel 4.

Rapper Dappy said to The Sun: "We thought it would be cool to do a special Christmas message to rival the Queen's speech but I'll be giving a very different take on things to Her Majesty.

"I'm going to be talking about things that matter to young people today, keeping it real and relevant."

The message will also appear on the band’s MySpace page at the same time.

The group will actually meet their ratings rival in the weeks leading up to the battle as they will be performing at the Royal Variety Performance on December 7. Dappy says he is really looking forward to meeting the monarch.

He said: "I'm going to kiss her on the cheek. No, only joking, I'm going to dress very smartly, with no hat."
