Music icon Cyndi Lauper has revealed that when she received an offer to work with country legend Willie Nelson she was so overwhelmed that she didn't believe it was real. 

He appears on Lauper's new album 'Detour' and duets with her on a version of his 1960 song 'Night Life'. Speaking to Star2.com recently, the 'True Colours' sensation explained that it was the chance of a lifetime and she was astonished:

"I was shocked! I thought, 'Wow, that'd be awesome', but I had to call up my manager to check if it was real or not."

"I didn't cry, 'cause I know that's not professional, so I didn't. I was very professional... He's just done so much great stuff and so many great songs...you're really sitting next to a legend."
