Billy Joel on the mendBilly Joel is reportedly on the mend following a double hip-replacement surgery. A spokeswoman for the ‘Uptown Girl’ star, Claire Mercuri told People.com that "Billy Joel is doing extremely well following bilateral hip replacement." The 61 year old was forced to have the surgery in order to correct a congenital condition, which had him hobbling with a cane for weeks. The Piano Man checked himself into a Long Island hospital to correct the problem and will now be spending Thanksgiving weekend in recovery. There was no word on when the singer might return to the stage. Watch the trailer for Joel's 2010 documentary 'The Last Play at Shea' below: Latest 10 Newsdesk News Stories
