Celine Dion to receive Icon award at the Billboard Music Awards

Singer Celine Dion will be honoured with the Icon award at the upcoming Billboard Music Awards.

The ceremony will take place on May 22 in Las Vegas and the show's executive producer Mark Bracco told Billboard magazine that she will be performing live at the event and hand-picked the song she will sing on the night:

"Celine Dion has a huge repertoire of monster hits and she personally chose to perform The Show Must Go On as her Icon performance on The Billboard Music Awards. I think at this moment in her life, the song has many meanings and it’s an amazing choice."

Other acts that have been announced as live performersinclude Nick Jonas, Demi Lovato, Justin Bieber, Shawn Mendes, P!nk and the Joe Jonas-fronted band DNCE. USA Today, meanwhile, has also reported that Spears will be presented with the Billboard Millennium Award at the ceremony, although this is yet to be officially confirmed.
