Heartthrob Harry Styles, of One Direction fame, has finally cut off his hair. 

Trends have been appearing on Twitter for the past few weeks about the star's longer locks, but the trends are no longer just rumours.

Styles shared a photograph on Instagram earlier today that shows him clutching a severed ponytail and he tagged the Little Princess Trust in the picture. 

The Little Princess Trust is a charity that creates wigs for children suffering with hair loss. The minimum length of hair that the organisation will accept is between 7-12″/17-30cm, although the website explains that "the longer the better please – 12″/30cm+."
