Billboard magazine is publishing its annual Moneymakers lists and first up is the Top 10 in the first of four revenue stream sources, sales.

Other categories to come include publishing, streaming and touring, but music's top earning artists where sales figures are concerned have now been shared and sitting at the top is none other than Adele with $16.3 million.

'Style' sensation Taylor Swift is at No.2, Britain's Ed Sheeran is at No.4 (although he is tied with country singer Luke Bryan), Justin Bieber is in sixth place, One Direction have finished at No.8, and 'All About That Bass' songstress is at No.9. 

One Direction's Harry Styles, meanwhile, shocked fans earlier this evening by revealing that he has finally cut his long locks. Styles donated his hair to a charity that provides wigs to children suffering with hair loss, which is called Little Princess Trust.
