It seems Ariana Grande has a new fan in New Zealand star Lorde.

The 'Royals' singer took to Twitter on Monday (May 9) to praise the US vocalist's new track 'Into You'. She lauded parts of the the tune as "pop perfection". Lorde wrote: "Oh man those ad-libs and little extra vocals in the last choruses of 'into you' really light my fire.

"Also the first sentence, that 'i'm so into you / i can barely breathe' is like maybe the closest thing to pop perfection i've ever heard."

Grande retweeted Lorde's messages and send her back some hearts.

The song features on the singer's upcoming third album 'Dangerous Woman'.

The record will land on May 20.
