Jared Leto tested out his Joker laugh on unsuspecting strangers

Musician and actor Jared Leto has revealed that he tested out his portrayal of The Joker, who he plays in the upcoming 'Suicide Squad' film, on random people he would walk past on the street.

During an interview on U.S. breakfast show Squawk Box, the 30 Seconds To Mars frontman explained that he took his preparation for the role to the streets and tested his portrayal on unsuspecting passers by:

"I worked on the laugh walking around the streets of New York and Toronto, and I kinda would walk around the streets and see what laughs would get under people's skin."

"You know when you hear someone laugh at a restaurant? It's a little jarring. I tried them out. And I kind of got to a place where I would laugh and people are always turning around like, 'Who is this creepy guy behind me?'"

Back in April, Leto admitted that he wasn't shy about trying to "create a dynamic" with the other cast members and sent them items that included used condoms, 'sticky' Playboy magazines and anal beads:

"I did a lot of things to create a dynamic - to create an element of surprise, a spontaneity and to really break down any kind of walls that may be there. The Joker is somebody who doesn't really respect things like personal space or boundaries."
