Prince memorial service was held at his Minneapolis church

A memorial service was held in honour of Prince at his Minneapolis church on Sunday (May 15).

Up to 500 people attended the event, which took place in a Jehovah's Witness building.

The service was invite-only, with Prince known as 'Brother Nelson' in the church.

Bassist Larry Graham introduced the late musician to the Jehovah's Witness faith in the 2000s.

He was among the people who read at the event.

Prince passed away in his Paisley Park complex in April aged just 57.

The cause of death has not yet been determined.
