Elton John on “stupid” Gallaghers

Sir Elton John has scolded brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher for cancelling an American tour in 1990s, saying they were “stupid” to let their squabbling keep Oasis from cracking America.

Oasis cancelled a tour in 1996 after a period of very public feuding between the brothers. The band broke up last year after Noel claimed that his brother was unbearable.

Elton insists that the US dates could have secured them continued success in America and he doesn’t understand how the boys could have cut it short.

Speaking to Absolute Radio, Elton said: "They were enormous in Britain, they were enormous in America and they went over there and argued between themselves and cancelled the tour and they never broke America.

"You only get it once, and if you blow it, it's gone. You can't not regret that. I always thought, 'You stupid s**ts. You'll never get that opportunity again.'"
