Adam Lambert on Queen: 'Brian and Roger have been so open and welcoming'

Vocal powerhouse Adam Lambert has spoke about touring and performing with Queen in a revealing new interview.

Lambert explained that performing such iconic songs with a legendary band is nothing short of an honour, and it helps that both Brian May and Roger Taylor have welcomed him so warmly:

"Freddie was unbelievable - he is mythical. That was part of me being so intimidated in the beginning... I was like, 'ugh, I'm going to be compared and how do I approach this?' Brian and Roger were so welcoming and open with me in working together, and that's a big reason why this has been so successful."

Brian May added: "We never looked for someone to replace Freddie, not for a moment, but suddenly here's this guy who can sing the songs and we see him on TV doing this stuff, and think 'woah, how interesting would that be to go out one more time and do all these songs.'"

Adam Lambert and Queen are set to resume their live dates tomorrow, on May 20, with a concert at Rock in Rio Lisboa.
