One Direction songwriter Wayne Hector has heard glowing reports about Harry Styles' solo music.

The singer is reportedly working on his own material as One Direction take a prolonged break.

Hector - who has co-written tracks like 'Best Song Ever' for the band - told BBC Newsbeat that he has heard good things about Styles' music.

He said: "I've heard that Harry's stuff is supposed to be phenomenal."

"Niall is really gifted musically and is a great guitarist."

Snow Patrol's Johnny McDaid meanwhile recently revealed that he has been writing songs with Styles.

He believes that the singer's music will "blow the socks off the world".
