Halsey praises Kesha for her perseverance and self-respect
Hitmaker Halsey has revealed that she was really excited for Kesha's performance at last night's Billboard Music Awards because it takes a lot of courage to fight for what you believe is right, which is exactly what the 'Die Young' star did.
Kesha was initially blocked from performing at the BBMAs after Dr. Luke's label Kemosabe revoked the permission given to her, but she eventually reached an agreement with them and was finally able to appear.
Speaking to Billboard on the BBMAs red carpet, the 'Ghost' songstress admitted that she wholeheartedly supports Kesha and believes that everyone has the right to create:
"I love her, I believe in her, I am so proud of her. I am happy to call her my friend and I hope that she kills it tonight because she deserves it. There is nothing in the world that should stop you from having the privilege to create. I love her."
Meghan Trainor also had something to say about Kesha's appearance at the awards ceremony, adding: "Kesha, we love you so much. We're so happy and proud that you're here today. I can't wait to see you perform, you're going to kill it."
