Carrie Underwood dealt with body-shaming criticism and judgement

Country sensation Carrie Underwood was called "fat" by complete strangers who felt the need to pass judgement on her appearance while she was enjoying her experience on 'American Idol'.

She told Us magazine that she received a lot of criticism when she was on the vocal talent show and was frequently body-shamed, which was difficult to deal with:

"Back when I was on American Idol, I was a bit heavier than I am now. That was the first time I was exposed to the public talking about me, so it was impossible not to look online and see what they were saying. Apparently I was fat. Of course I wasn't, but sometimes words people choose are not the nicest."

The 'Blown Away' beauty went onto add that she takes much better care of herself now and feels great as a result of it: "I feel much better now at 33 than I did when I was 20 because I take better care of myself."

Last summer, Underwood opened up about her incredible physique and told E! News that as soon as she was ready to workout after giving birth, she was straight back at it: "I made it happen where I can, when I can pretty much... I schedule things around feedings and stuff like that. Anything I do I'm like, every three hours, 'I gotta go feed my baby!'"
