Adam Lambert wins all-time favourite 'American Idol' contestant

Last week, Pressparty launched a poll to find our readers' all-time favourite 'American Idol' contestant

The much loved vocal television talent show is now in its final season and has produced some amazing talent over the years, from country star Carrie Underwood to rocker Chris Daughtry and to 'Home' star Phillip Phillips.

In first place, with a phenomenal 94% of the vote is none other than 2009's runner up Adam Lambert. He came in second place on Series 8, losing out to winner Kris Allen. At No.2 in our readers' poll is Carrie Underwood. See the full results at the bottom of this post.

Lambert went onto enjoy an incredibly successful career and to date he has released studio albums, taken on an acting part in 'Glee', and travelled the world as the frontman of iconic rock band Queen.

Back in February, he opened up about the impending end of 'American Idol' and explained that it will be sad to see the show finish, but it's probably about time it wrapped up:

"It's an end of an era, Idol will always go down in history for what it is and what it did and what it represents for people. It came long at a time when I think we, as a country, we needed to come together and we needed to believe in something hopeful and give underdogs a chance and celebrate music and the diversity of music in our country. I think they did a great job, and it's time to pack it up."

The 'Ghost Town' superstar, meanwhile, will appear in the new remake of 'Rocky Horror Picture Show' and he told Idolator that he wouldn't have been comfortable playing Frank-N-Furter in the production in 2016:

“I kind of felt like in 2016, to be cis and playing the role of a trans character, it felt inappropriate to me. In the ‘70s, it was different. But nowadays we have such an amazing conversation that’s started about trans and gender in this world. I think casting Laverne was so brilliant. It’s so appropriate, you know what I mean?”

Earlier this week, we posted an article in which we rounded up our top five quotes of Adam's and you can read it by clicking here.
