Iconic musician Prince 'died of an opioid overdose', official confirms to the APThe world was shocked back in April when iconic musician Prince was found dead at the age of 57 in his Paisley Park mansion. The Associated Press has now released the following statement, which contains results from the legend's autopsy, and confirmed that Prince died of an overdose: "A law-enforcement official tells The Associated Press that tests show the music superstar died of an opioid overdose." Prince's brother-in-law Maurice Phillips, who is married to Prince's sister Tyka Nelson, told reporters that the star hadn't slept in days shortly before his untimely death: "He worked 154 hours straight. I was with him just last weekend. He was a good brother-in-law." As previously reported, Glastonbury founder Michael Eavis recently told reporters that Prince was in talks to perform at this year's event. Eavis said: "I was going to meet his agent, it was all planned but it didn’t happen. His death was so sad. That’s a real star that we never had."
