Primal Scream singer Bobby Gillespie was taken to hospital after falling seven feet off stage at a Swiss festival.

The group were performing at the Caribana festival in Vaud on Thursday (June 2) when the incident occurred.

NME report that the Scot was taken to hospital and is recovering.

He is not thought to have suffered any major injuries.

A statement on Gillespie's condition is expected to be released soon.
