Demi Lovato and Nick Jonas pay emotional tribute to Orlando shooting victims

Demi Lovato and Nick Jonas reached out to the 49 victims of the recent Orlando gay club shooting at a show in the city at the weekend.

The pair also honoured Voice contestant Christina Grimmie, who died when she was shot outside a venue in the same city in June.

Lovato and Jonas were performing at Orlando's Amway Center on Saturday (July 2) when they paid tribute to those who died.

A man called Hank took to the stage to lead a prayer, saying:

"Orlando you've been through a lot.

"So we want to pause in the midst of this exciting and beautiful night and we want to pause and say a prayer...We're gonna say a prayer together. Let's pray for healing."

Lovato and Jonas - who are on their North America Future Now tour - then sang Andra Day's 'Rise Up'.

While performing the tune, the names of the 49 victims of the Pulse gay club shooting were displayed on a screen, while a tribute to Grimmie also took place.
