The 1975 on 'surreal' 'Somebody Else' video: 'It was an intense process'

The 1975 frontman Matt Healy has revealed that shooting the band's "surreal" music video for their latest single 'Somebody Else' was an "intense creative process".

Speaking to BBC's Newsbeat recently, the singer admitted that it was weird to film a love scene with another man dressed up to look like him: "I had to shoot a love scene with a guy dressed as me. It's 2016, there are no fears about that but it was an intense creative process."

"It was a collaboration between me and Tim (Mattia, the director) and it was surreal. We had to shoot almost two or three videos because it goes back on itself."

Healy went onto add that he's the creative brain behind the band's videos: "I write all the videos and have mates who are brilliant directors. I write the storyline when I'm writing the song and how I see it in my head. It gives continuity."
